Health-Chex empowers healthcare workers through educations and by constructing the definitions for success prior to any implementation.  The solution allows team members and groups to understand their roles or function in a given process to facilitate an easy execution of well understood steps. Health-Chex empowers granular staff as well as management by helping to set benchmarks that drive success at all levels of the organization. Training and Go-Live Support

We conduct formal instructor-led classroom training sessions, facilitated remotely or at your own location. At the conclusion of formal classroom training, we engage staff during actual use to provide one-on-one guidance and coaching. Our classes vary from 1-day educational intensives to week-long mastery courses, complete with differentiated and relevant content for your end users.  Health-Chex is able to provide a broad range of training solutions for your organization. Tailored solutions are also available upon request.  We collaborate with you to meet staff and client education needs

Health-Chex is committed to the train-the-trainer model of education. We believe in not only providing end users with a thorough understanding of your desired process or knowledge base, but also equipping future internal trainers with the necessary understanding to continue the education using our methodology and industry specific knowledge. All courses offer practical scenarios and small group collaborations designed to enable device or software proficiency, troubleshooting capabilities and user enthusiasm. In addition to training for your HIT project, we can also conduct an HIT Needs Assessment, a Workflow Analysis or an HIT Readiness Assessment to confirm your readiness or reasons for embarking on future Health Information Technology projects.

Workflow Redesign

Regardless the goal, Health-Chex can help you map current state workflows and develop the future state scenarios that align with your goals. The most successful HIT projects begin with an examination of the current workflow and the intended impact of the solution on that workflow.  In healthcare, oftentimes the patient-centered goals are to increase throughput, improve healthcare quality and safety, and improve care coordination. Staff-centered goal may include: decreased lag time, removed redundancies, and increased safety. Finally, there may be greater operational goals associated with new HIT project related to cost, accountability, data gathering and revenue.

Solution Validation

Let us confirm whether or not a vendor’s software output meets the input specifications by examining and providing evidence of usability in the desired setting.  We perform tests of each possible scenario to mitigate any production or use errors. Health-Chex produces a design validation report for you, with confirmatory signatures of key stake holders. These documents may then be archived for future use and references.  The goal of the design verification process during software development is ensuring that the designed software product is the same as specified.

We utilize the steps common to the industry, but keep your desired outcomes central to the conversation during each step of the process. The identification of verification activity is done parallel, keeping the designer and architect aware of any last-minute edits. Required tools, the test environment, strategy development and requirements identification take place during the planning phase. The myriad of testing scenarios are identified in the development phase. This is followed by the execution and the reporting stages of solution validation. Health-Chex will accurately report findings that facilitate pre-launch corrections if and when necessary. The solution validation is then encapsulated into a report to support future edits, integrations or expansions.

Whether you desire a pre- or post-implementation assessment, Health-Chex is poised to deliver. During a pre-implementation assessment, we examine your readiness for desired future HIT implementations. We’ll work with you to develop a realistic roadmap towards your desired goals. The objectives of the Post-Deployment Assessment are to assess the current state of use through both subjective and objective means. Through systems analysis, site observations and user interviews, we provide you with a report, action items log and a score card addressing broad and specific aspects on the HIT implementation based on the statement of work and your stated goals for the project. Our subject matter experts will also produce a formal report with recommended steps in tiers based on your facility’s capacity and needs.

Project Management

Even with the growth of Project Management Offices (PMO) in healthcare information technology services departments, additional project management staff may be needed to support the rolling out of multiple big budget projects simultaneously.  Health-Chex will work with your staff to ensure that projects are completed on time, on budget, and according to specifications. We leverage our knowledge of the industry to build a foundation for success. Our project managers proceed with a clear vision, strong leadership, well defined policies, procedures, and governance, and well-selected tools and techniques.

Our model maintains and shares project oversight responsibilities similar to a PMO in any other industry. However, our repertoire of expertise has to grow to encompass the unique issues facing project management in healthcare information technology organizations. Such issues include the need for physician/clinician involvement and integration in the decision-making processes, as well as adequate project governance and the need to dedicate enough time for planning, assessing, understanding, and improving workflow and other business process management issues.
